HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Families living on base with students enrolled in Bedford High School have until Oct. 31 to complete and submit the 2025-2026 Federal Impact Aid Survey for federally connected students.
Information gathered through the survey process determines Bedford’s eligibility for federal impact aid funding. The forms are confidential, and the information collected is available only to school and federal officials.
“I ask parents and guardians to take these surveys seriously and to ensure they are signed, dated, and returned by the deadline,” said Col. Jorge Jimenez, Hanscom AFB commander. “The information collected in these surveys helps to secure increased funding, better resources, and federal reimbursement for the school system.”
The Federal Impact Aid Program assists local school districts with a significant number of children residing on military bases or other federal properties.
“Impact aid provides federal funding to help support all areas of a student’s education,” said Laurel Wironen, Hanscom AFB’s school liaison program manager. “The funds are sent directly to the district, and they are able to determine how those dollars are used in support of the student.”
Wironen emphasized the importance of supporting Bedford Public Schools through the Impact Aid process.
“Bedford High counts on Hanscom families to return completed surveys to ensure the district has the resources needed to educate our children,” she said. “These surveys are critical to maintaining the great partnership we have with Bedford Public Schools.”
