The 66th Force Support Squadron will host its annual Winterfest event Dec. 5 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the base chapel.

The event will include a North Pole photo area, free food, a winter market and the annual tree lighting ceremony.

“This year’s event will be magical,” said Ashley Babatov, 66 FSS digital content specialist. “We’ll have treats, crafts and games for families, all for free. Visitors can even follow Candy Cane Lane to have a photo with Santa at the North Pole.”

The Hanscom School choir will also perform holiday carols.

“Being together during the holidays and enjoying the festive atmosphere make this event special,” said 2d Lt. Madyson Ohren, 66 FSS OIC of Readiness and Plans. “The tree lighting kicks off the holiday season, and you can even get a jump-start on your shopping at the vendor market.”

Free chicken sandwiches, cookies, and hot chocolate will be available while supplies last.

The Tavern will offer specialty adult beverages for purchase, including glühwein, a traditional German-style mulled wine.

“We are hoping for a magical snow flurry,” said Babatov. “But the event will be hosted no matter the forecast. We encourage everyone to bundle up and wear your warmest winter gear.”
