HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – With the holiday season here, 66th Security Forces Squadron personnel remind the community to plan ahead when bringing family and friends on base.

Staff Sgt. Benjamin Huntley, 66 SFS installation access NCO in charge, said visitors 18 and older must present a REAL ID-compliant credential or equivalent at the gate.

“Preparing early helps avoid delays at the gate and keeps everyone’s visit running smoothly,” he said.

Short-term passes, valid for up to 60 days, are available at the Visitor Control Center Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Long-term passes, valid for one year, must be submitted online.

Sponsors with an official military email can apply for long-term passes through the Hanscom AFB Virtual Visitor Center, while those without a military email can request a link from Hanscom.Police.Services@us.af.mil to apply.

After-hours passes may be obtained at the Sartain Gate but are valid only until the next duty day.

Huntley included that non-U.S. visitor requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance.

“Large gatherings involving 10 or more visitors should be coordinated through the special event request system,” he said.

SFS officials also noted that vehicles may not be left in the Visitor Control Center parking lot.

“Reach out with any questions so we can help make access as seamless as possible,” Huntley said.
