HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Installation leaders recently announced the names of higher headquarters-level awards captured by 66th Air Base Group personnel and the Command Post in an email to the workforce.

Lt. Col. Nicholas Stockdale, 66th Comptroller Squadron commander, and Senior Master Sgt. Alan Kitler, 66 CPTS senior enlisted leader, received Air Force Materiel Command-level distinction.

“These awards reflect the exceptional leadership and professionalism Lt. Col. Stockdale and Senior Master Sgt. Kitler, as well as the entire CPTS team, brings to the mission every day,” said Col. Jorge Jimenez, 66 ABG commander. “Their ability to deliver results at the highest levels while taking care of Airmen directly strengthens our readiness.”

Stockdale received the Major General Frank R. Faykes Financial Management and Comptroller of the Year Award, which recognizes financial managers for exceptional service and contributions to the Air Force.

Under his leadership, according to the citation, CPTS achieved the Department of the Air Force’s best metrics for travel voucher accuracy and government travel card delinquencies, ranking first in the command for Defense Travel System compliance, and placed among the top small bases Air Force-wide.

Additionally, Stockdale oversaw $49 billion in fund certification supporting major acquisition programs and led CPTS through fiscal year closeout in September 2025 despite significant manpower challenges, executing 100% of allocated authority and closing out the year first among AFMC bases.

Kitler, who was recently selected for promotion to chief master sergeant, received the Chief Master Sergeant Larry P. Gonzales Superintendent of the Year Award. The award recognizes excellence in managing squadron operations, supporting personnel and overseeing financial budgets.

“Senior Master Sgt. Kitler helped secure and oversee the Air Force’s largest budget while identifying hundreds of millions of dollars to support department-wide fiscal solvency,” said Stockdale. “He also helped drive enterprise-wide process improvements, streamlined dozens of initiatives to save thousands of man-hours, and advanced the ‘CPTS of the Future’ construct, positioning Airmen for increased agility and cross-functional expertise.”

Both Stockdale and Kitler will advance to compete at the Air Force-level.

The 66th Air Base Group’s Command Post received the All-Domain Command and Control Operations award at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center level for leadership and technical expertise during high-tempo operations.

“Our Command Post team takes pride in delivering timely, reliable command and control, especially when conditions are at their worst,” said Jimenez. “Their ability to adapt, innovate and execute under pressure directly translates to keeping the installation and mission partners ready at all times.”

According to the citation, the team spearheaded a radio upgrade that improved system reliability, reinforcing base-wide communications.

“By leveraging agile principles, we reduced inefficiencies and streamlines processes to drive more effective operations,” said Master Sgt. Andreas Lilly, Command Post superintendent. “These improvements allowed us to operate efficiently with six personnel instead of 10, while continuing to support deployments, TDYs and leave.”

The Command Post will now compete at the AFMC level.
