HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. — The 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron provides a no-cost base taxi service for members of the workforce here conducting official business during normal duty hours.
The service operates Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding federal holidays and weekends.
“Our goal is to make it easier for Airmen, civilians and mission partners to accomplish the mission without transportation becoming a barrier,” said Steve Morin, 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron director. “The taxi ensures our workforce can move efficiently across the installation when official duties require it.”
In accordance with Department of the Air Force guidance, transportation is only authorized for official business and is not permitted for travel between an individual’s residence and place of employment.
In addition to these services, LRS also provides U-Drive-It vehicles to organizations and temporarily assigned personnel performing duties under official orders.
In accordance with Air Force Instruction, UDI vehicles support home-station missions, contingencies, temporary duty assignments and combat service support operations.
Use of UDI vehicles is generally limited to a 72-hour period, though each request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
“Whether it’s a short-term vehicle requirement or transportation across the installation, our team is committed to delivering reliable, responsive support to the Team Hanscom community,” Morin said.
