ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Department of the Air Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management welcomed a new leader, Feb. 2, 2026.
Brig. Gen. Jason Voorheis recently assumed the role of PAE for C3BM, taking responsibility for overseeing acquisition strategy and execution for capabilities that enable integrated command, control, communications and battle management across the force.
“I look forward to working with the C3BM team to build on the incredible foundation already set,” Voorheis said. “My mindset coming into the team is to continue accelerating the technical momentum while further empowering the team with tools and authorities from the acquisition transformation being championed by Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Air Force. We’ll continue to set the pace for the DAF on mission-informed enterprise architectures, staying ruthlessly focused on delivering a DAF BATTLE NETWORK that balances warfighter needs and enterprise solutions.”
Voorheis succeeds Lt. Gen. Luke Cropsey, who served as C3BM’s leader since the organization’s standup in 2022. Voorheis brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the portfolio having served for more than 25 years in the department. He has held multiple leaderships positions within the acquisition field. Previously, he served as the Program Executive Officer for Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, responsible for the development, production, fielding, sustainment and modernization of the Air Force fighter portfolio.
“I’ve watched the Advanced Battle Management System and C3BM story unfold over the last decade from various perches,” Voorheis said. “What the dynamically evolving C3BM team has built over the last three years has been impressive.”
In his role, Voorheis guides the development and delivery of more than 50 programs of record supporting the DAF BATTLE NETWORK, the system-of-systems designed to connect sensors, effectors and decision-makers to enable faster operational decisions and improved situational awareness.
DAF PAE C3BM integrates the C3BM materiel enterprise within the department, aligning technical architecture and acquisition authorities to streamline the delivery of decision advantage capabilities via the DAF BATTLE NETWORK.
