HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Base officials announced this week that three members of the 66th Comptroller Squadron have received Air Force Materiel Command-level quarterly awards.

Second Lt. Kieurstyn Camacho, Kevin M. McNamara and Staff Sgt. Kenneth A. Pedres received AFMC Financial Management and Comptroller Awards for the fourth quarter.

“This is a phenomenal achievement, and it speaks volumes about the excellence and dedication of our people,” said Col. Jorge Jimenez, 66th Air Base Group commander. “Winning at the MAJCOM [major command] level is a significant accomplishment, and these individuals represent the best in their respective fields across all of AFMC.”

Camacho, 66 CPTS Financial Operations deputy flight commander, led the certification of nearly 4,000 financial transactions, supporting six squadrons, three program executive offices and 130 geographically separated units.

“Her efforts resulted in a 100 percent execution rate for Air Force Materiel Command and the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, with Hanscom Air Force Base becoming the first of seven AFMC bases cleared for fiscal year-end closeout,” said Lt. Col. Nicholas Stockdale, 66 CPTS commander.

McNamara, 66 CPTS accounting technician, delivered similar impact on the civilian pay and resource management front, according to CPTS leaders.

He resolved more than 250 uncertified timecard cases within 48 hours, created an automated notification solution that saved more than 60 hours of labor annually, and personally solved hundreds of customer service cases while closing several higher headquarters help tickets.

“Kevin’s work directly prevented financial hardship for our teammates and ensured funds were delivered accurately and on time,” Stockdale said. “That kind of reliability builds confidence across the installation.”

Pedres, 66 CPTS financial management supervisor, led a three-person team to resolve a long-standing Air Force-wide voucher reconciliation challenge, correcting more than 500 records totaling $450,000 and elevating the installation into the top 21% across the Department of the Air Force.

“Staff Sgt. Pedres consistently turns complex problems into streamlined solutions,” Stockdale said. “His innovation and leadership directly enhanced readiness and operational capability.”

Beyond their technical achievements, according to Stockdale, all three individuals demonstrated commitment to the broader community through volunteerism, base events and outreach efforts that strengthened esprit de corps and reinforced a people-focused culture across Hanscom.

Last month, Stockdale and Chief Master Sgt. Alan Kitler, 66 CPTS senior enlisted leader, also received Air Force Materiel Command-level distinction by winning financial management functional awards.
