Military and civilian Airmen of all ranks assigned here are invited to one of three offerings of "Professionalism - Enhancing Human Capital" at the Hanscom Conference Center May 2 through 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Presented by the Profession of Arms Center of Excellence, also known as PACE, this course will examine how professionalism drives individual behavior and connects the Air Force core values to the Air Force mission.

"This presentation will focus on effective communication and building relationships that result in increased loyalty and trust throughout your organizations," said Jim Muise, director of Hanscom's Education and Training Center. "It is from the basis of trust that people can influence others and then shape the commitment to our Air Force core values."

The presentation, taught by Lt. Col. Teresa Roberts, an Air Education and Training Command PACE instructor, examines the psychology of trust, authority and influence.

By understanding these principles of the human condition, Muise said, Airmen can better build healthy relationships that provide an opportunity for positive influence at all levels.

"This presentation will result in more effective teams throughout the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom," he said. "PACE is driven and committed to its vision of developing Airmen who do the right thing, the right way and for the right reason."

Rachael Cossingham, education and training specialist, highlighted how this presentation extends beyond professional relationships.

"Though the course is targeted at effective working relationships, attendees will also be able to apply the lessons learned during this presentation to their personal lives," she said.

Last year Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Mark Welsh directed the activation of the Profession of Arms Center of Excellence following an initiative set forth by former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel that focuses on military professionalism.

This center is now working to ensure the concept and culture of the profession of arms is taught at every level of leadership and supervision.

All Hanscom active duty, Reserve personnel, Air National Guard and Air Force civilian employees can attend the upcoming presentation.

Officials encourage sign up through Air Force Materiel Command's Education and Training Management System at https://myetms.wpafb.af.mil by searching for "Enhancing Human Capital," under the Course Catalog menu. Acquisition personnel are eligible for five and a half continuous learning points.
