With one week remaining in Hanscom's Combined Federal Campaign, more than $62,000, or 41 percent, has been collected toward the $150,000 goal.

The last day to donate to Hanscom's CFC is Nov. 20. Three fundraising events are planned next week in an effort to reach Hanscom's goal.

"There still are many ways for Hanscom employees to donate and get involved with CFC," said 2nd Lt. Jennifer Johnsen, installation campaign manager.

A Hero Workout fundraiser is scheduled Nov. 18 at 6:30 a.m. and again at 4:30 p.m. at the Fitness and Sports Center. In addition, the C3I and Networks Directorate has scheduled a Thanksgiving auction and raffle Nov. 18 and a pie-in-the-face fundraiser Nov. 19.

The CFC is the largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns held worldwide to help raise millions of dollars each year, according to the Office of Personnel Management CFC website.

"While we're confident we can reach our goal of $150,000, we can only do so with your help," wrote Col. Michael A. Vogel, installation commander, in an email to Hanscom's workforce. "There are many ways to give, and over 20,000 charitable organizations to give to."

Another way for federal employees to donate would be during a fundraiser planned by CFC of Eastern Massachusetts Nov. 21 at 12:30 p.m. On that day, all federal employees are invited to a tour of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. The tour will include the Mural Room, which is a special area of the building not normally open to visitors.

Organizers ask those interested in attending contact Keelin Bogart at 617-514-1587.

Johnsen pointed out that among the many benefits of donating to the CFC is that donors decide which charities will receive their gift.

Also encouraging federal employees to consider participating was the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center commander.

"Our communities need your help to finish the 2015 CFC with a strong push, so share your passion by considering a gift to CFC today," wrote Lt. Gen. John F. Thompson in an email to the AFLCMC workforce.

Johnsen reminds Hanscom employees there are many ways to contribute to this year's campaign.

A link to the "Combined Federal Campaign (CFC)" has been added under "Pay Changes" on the first page of MyPay after log in. Donors will need to enter the contribution amount per pay period and then enter the Eastern Massachusetts campaign code of 0427. MyPay provides a "Name Search," Category Search," or "Advanced Search" for employees to find a charitable organization during the MyPay donation process.

In addition to the MyPay option, federal employees have other options for giving. Another option is to give a one-time donation. If employees choose a payroll deduction, they may either fill out a pledge card or use MyPay. Those that choose a one-time donation will need to fill out a pledge card with their unit CFC representative.

CFC began in the 1960s to coordinate the fundraising efforts of various charitable organizations so that federal donors would only be solicited one time per year in the workplace.

Hanscom AFB is part of the CFC of Eastern Massachusetts. Employees may visit the CFC of Eastern Massachusetts website at http://easternmasscfc.org for a nationwide list of charities.
