Upcoming fraud working group to highlight current issues Published Nov. 10, 2015 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The next Boston Area Fraud Working Group will take place Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. at the U.S. Coast Guard Base in Boston. Topics to be covered during the session include "Insight into Computer Crimes," "Perspectives from the Assistant U.S. Attorney," and "Case Studies: Counterfeit Military Goods." Personnel who attend will also be able to meet Coast Guard Investigative Service and Computer Crime investigators during the discussion of computer crimes. Time is also set aside for questions and answers. "This is a unique opportunity to learn about a variety of current issues that could potentially impact our work," said Jennifer Carrion, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate acquisition fraud and program counsel. "I encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the Boston Area Fraud Working Group." The BAFWG meets bi-annually to train the acquisition community on fraud recognition, reporting, hot topics and case studies. The BAFWG also provides a forum for acquisition and law enforcement professionals to discuss trends in procurement fraud. All government employee professionals who are involved in the acquisition process, regardless of position or experience level, can attend the upcoming BAFWG.
