Transportation provided for official travelers Published Nov. 3, 2015 By Mark Wyatt 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Hanscom's 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Operations Section offers free transportation to those traveling to and from Logan International Airport on official government travel. And while the service is not new to Hanscom travelers, many are unaware of the free and convenient program. Officials ask travelers to schedule their service to and from Logan Airport as soon as their travel is confirmed and official orders are received. Those with temporary duty requirements elsewhere, or members that are permanently changing station, can make reservations on the Hanscom SharePoint eShuttle page. Personnel may also make reservations by faxing their official orders with a completed eShuttle request form, found on the SharePoint site, to 781-225-2527. Shuttle times for service to Logan Airport are Monday through Friday at 6:45, 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m., as well as 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. Pick-up locations on base include: Buildings 1305, 1600, 1606, 1614, 1624, 1630, the long term parking lot at Building 1103, base lodging and the swimming pool. For those traveling from Logan Airport to Hanscom AFB, shuttle service is offered seven times daily, Monday through Friday at 7:30, 9:30 and 11 a.m., as well as 12:30, 2, 3:30 and 4 p.m. "For pick-up at Logan, each terminal has a designated shuttle pick-up location outside of the baggage claim area on the ground level," said Jeffery Finley, 66 LRS vehicle operations supervisor. "This area will be the pick-up location for all Hanscom eShuttle passengers." If a passenger is unable to locate the eShuttle while at the airport, Finley encourages them to call vehicle dispatch at 781-225-5830. In addition to service to Logan Airport, LRS offers a base taxi that is available for those conducting official business on base. "The base taxi service is ideal for those who carpool, during inclement weather or where high-volume parking lots limit parking," Finley said. "No reservations are required for this service." The base taxi service runs Monday through Friday during normal duty hours. To schedule a pick-up, contact the dispatch office at 781-225-5830. Shuttle service is not available on holidays or weekends. For further information, contact Vehicle Operations Dispatch at 781-225-5830 or by email at 66.LRS.LGRDDO.Vehicle.Request@us.af.mil.
