Kasie Moriarty was honored at an Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association international conference held in San Diego, Calif., last month.

Moriarty serves as an acquisition program manager in the Landing Systems Branch at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Hanscom Air Force Base.

Moriarty received the prestigious award of "Distinguished Young AFCEAN" for her outstanding contributions to AFCEA's Lexington-Concord Chapter. Specifically, she was cited for her exemplary performance in invigorating current chapter members and recruiting new ones.

She was also singled out for her support of the chapter's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education programs for young students, including judging at high school science fairs, grading results and awarding scholarships at a MathCounts competition. Further, she greatly enhanced the chapter's "Rocket Box" program by personally distributing more than 300 rocket kits, participating in a launch and linking the chapter to two new schools.

Moriarty was praised by Chapter President Steve Falcone for her "passion in generously volunteering her time to the numerous initiatives we sponsor to raise awareness and funds for the Chapter's Educational Foundation."
