The 66th Air Base Group Judge Advocate Office is scheduled to host the Boston Area Fraud Working Group quarterly meeting here Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center Holzman Room.

Four special agents assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 6 will present a case study illustrating how involving OSI from the beginning can result in decisive action against wrongdoers without slowing down a program. The agents are full-time procurement fraud investigators at Hanscom.

"This is the kind of success story that is too often underreported, and shows how important it is for the procurement professionals and OSI to work cooperatively," said Maj. Daniel E. Schoeni, 66 ABG deputy staff judge advocate.

The Boston Area Fraud Working Group is sponsored by the Acquisition Fraud Counsel from Hanscom and Air Force Materiel Command. This meeting draws federal law enforcement and legal experts from sister services, the FBI, Department of Justice and other organizations.

Event organizers encourage all members of the acquisition workforce to attend, especially those in program management, contracting and engineering. Pre-registration is not required.

"This training is invaluable to all acquisition professionals who are the Air Force's eyes and ears for detecting corrupt practices," said Schoeni. "It will help them understand their roles in the fight against procurement fraud."
