The DRAGON-equipped U.S. Air Force E-3 AWACS aircraft, known as D-1, arrives at Boeing Field in Seattle, Wash., Oct. 22 after a handoff from the Air Force. DRAGON is a Hanscom AFB based program, which stands for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources Replacement of Avionics for Global Operations and Navigation. DRAGON is also a cooperative development effort between the Air Force and NATO to upgrade the cockpits of both fleets.
