Hanscom community invited to Bedford Day Sept. 20 Published Sept. 9, 2014 HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The town of Bedford invites the Hanscom community to join them Sept. 20 in celebration of the 285th anniversary of its incorporation. The Bedford Day celebration will begin with a parade at 10:30 a.m. that proceeds up Great Road from Loomis Street toward Bedford High School on Mudge Way. Following the parade, the annual Bedford Day Fair will be held from approximately 11:15 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Town Hall complex. It will feature a "food row" with a wide variety of options and more than 150 booths featuring local groups and businesses. "Bedford Day is a true community day," said Amy Hamilton, Town of Bedford Recreation director. . "It is about supporting local groups and organizations and catching up with people in our community." The Bedford Day celebration also features karate, dance and fitness performances. Organizers recommend attendees avoid the limited parking by riding a bike or walking to the event.
