Hanscom personnel honored at AFCEA International Conference Published July 23, 2014 HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Two Hanscom members were honored at an Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association international conference held in Baltimore, Md. last month. Scott Hardiman, Space, Aerial and Nuclear Networks Division deputy chief received the AFCEA Leadership Award. Diane James-Poole, an acquisition specialist for the C3I Infrastructure Division received the AFCEA Meritorious Service Award. Hardiman received the award in recognition of his work to improve the local AFCEA chapter's partnership between industry, government and AFLCMC. "He assembled a group of media experts ... to form a media panel. Its topic was 'A Partnership to Better Inform the Public: Understanding the Government, Media and Industry Relationship,' and it became a highlight of our last New Horizons," said Bud Vazquez, AFCEA Lexington-Concord Chapter president. The New Horizons Symposium is an annual event sponsored by the Lexington-Concord Chapter of AFCEA that provides an opportunity for Life Cycle Management Center program executive officers and program managers to exchange information with industry on current and emerging business opportunities. James-Poole was recognized for her graphics support to the annual symposia over the last 12 years. She volunteered "countless hours of personal time to prepare for our annual events that include hot topics of interest to the military-industrial acquisition community," said Claire Goulet, vice president of the AFCEA Lexington-Concord Chapter.
