Medical appointment reminders available via text, email Published July 23, 2014 66th Medical Squadron HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Have you or your family members ever missed a medical appointment at the 66th Medical Squadron clinic? Would a text-message or email reminder have helped? If you answered yes to either of these questions, we have a solution. TRICARE Online, or TOL, which allows beneficiaries the ability to schedule, cancel and view appointments from any computer via the internet, now offers beneficiaries the ability to receive appointment reminders via or text or email. Through recent upgrades, access to TOL has been simplified from six login steps to two, and the unique 15-digit password has been eliminated. Eligible beneficiaries can now login using a password, their Common Access Card, Defense Finance and Accounting Service, or DFAS, myPay login or premium Defense Department self-service login account. Once logged in, users have the option to designate up to three email addresses and mobile phone numbers to receive appointment reminders for primary care and self-referral specialty care appointments. Appointment reminders work for any appointment booked via TOL, those booked in person at the clinic and even appointments booked through the central appointments line at 781-225-6789. Users receive a confirmation text message and/or email when booking the appointment and a reminder up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time; and again, two hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Email and text message reminders are also a convenient way to communicate medical appointments to other family members and/or caregivers. If registering for text message reminders, normal text message rates may apply. Please contact the servicing cellular provider for text message questions. Beneficiaries will need to sign up for an account first if not already a registered TOL user. New or existing users will be prompted automatically to set up appointment reminders after booking an appointment on TOL. Beneficiaries can also review, change or activate reminder settings by following the instructions below: 1. Go to the TOL home page located at www.tricareonline.com 2. Log in to TOL using their CAC, Premium DS Logon or DFAS myPay account 3. Click on the TOL Appointment Center, under your future appointments, select "Click here to set-up appointment reminder" below the appointment summary for which you wish to set a reminder 4. Complete requested fields and click "Save Reminders" OR 1. Go to the TOL home page located at www.tricareonline.com 2. Log in to TOL using your CAC, Premium DS Logon or DFAS myPay account 3. Click "My Profile" in the top navigation bar 4.
