Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Commander Lt. Gen. C. D. Moore II lauded members of Hanscom Air Force Base for a multitude of successes during an all-call in the Aero Club Hangar July 9.

"I believe innovation starts here," said Moore.

There are more than 3,000 programs and support efforts within LCMC, and there was no shortage of accomplishments under Hanscom's Battle Management and Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks Directorates.

A few of Battle Management's honorable mentions included "huge drives in cost savings," development of the Air Force's Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar, advancements in mission support planning and a $941 million Space Fence contract award.

"I'm awed by the capability of what our people do every day," Moore said. "We continue to draw in the very best."

For those Airmen who work within the C3I&N directorate, two programs particularly stood out.

The Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals Division - a program whose efforts resulted in $600 million of cost avoidance to the Air Force - was deemed a "tremendous capability" by the LCMC commander.

Also recognized was the Space, Aerial and Nuclear Networks Division's Battlefield Airborne Communications Node program office. The BACN-equipped E-11A fleet surpassed 5,000 missions, which have enabled communication between warfighters operating on different networks and allowed them to relay information between air and ground forces.

"It's an amazing system that does great things for our warfighters," Moore said.

However, it wasn't solely large-scale efforts that received applause as a handful of select individuals were also brought to stage and spotlighted by the commander -- Airmen whose contributions range from contracting, medical support, force protection and deployment achievements.

He also spoke about how AFLCMC and Hanscom officials specifically have worked with one another and with external organizations to maximize mission effectiveness.

"It's how we work together to deliver combat capabilities," the LCMC commander said. "I couldn't be more pleased of the partnerships forged here."

Moore also praised Col. Lester A. Weilacher, the 66th Air Base Group commander, for a job well done, on the eve of a change of command at which he'd relinquish his post to the incoming commander, Col. Michael Vogel.

"The 66th Air Base Group is an integral part of LCMC," he said.

Moore specifically noted the work of the 66th Air Base Group Fire Department for their fire rescue response during the recent tragic event at Hanscom Field.

Before the all-call concluded, Moore emphasized that LCMC remains focused on acquisition and product support for the warfighter. The plan remains the same, to embrace a unity of purpose with mission and regional partners that will help forge one team delivering integrated, innovative, dominant airpower capabilities ... on time, on cost.
