LRS to host open house May 14 Published May 8, 2014 HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The 66th Logistics Readiness Squadron is hosting an open house May 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Building 1642 to highlight the mission of the squadron, LRS officials announced recently. "The purpose of the open house is to let all employees on base and other federal government agencies in New England to know what services are available to them," said Lori Ferguson, 66th LRS Vehicle Maintenance and Analysis supervisor. "If a government agency leases a vehicle from the General Services Administration, Hanscom LRS can assist with services such as vehicle maintenance, often at a cost lower than they would get commercially." Among the other services organizers want base personnel to know is available is a shuttle service to Logan Airport as well as a base taxi service for transportation on base to official functions, Ferguson said. In addition, vehicle operations, deployment and distribution, vehicle maintenance and the materiel management sections will be open for visitors to learn more about. Bus service is available every 15 minutes from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for those interested in attending the open house. Service will begin and end at Building 1642, site of the open house, and continue to the following facilities: Buildings 1305, 1505, 1600, 1606 and 1614. Government Service Agency representatives will be on hand to answer questions about government leased vehicles, said Ferguson.
