The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band is scheduled to perform a free concert in Lexington, Mass., April 25.

The band will perform in Battin Hall at the Cary Memorial Building located at 1605 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington. Those interested must obtain their free tickets prior to the event from www.heritageofamericaband.ticketleap.com.

"We are thrilled that the Heritage Band of America chose Lexington as one of their stops on their Northeast Tour," said Suzie Barry, chairman of the Lexington Town Celebrations Committee. "We are looking forward to a wonderful concert and encourage the community to come out and support this great event. Let's fill the hall for them."

Many former members of the now deactivated Hanscom based U.S. Air Force Band of Liberty are currently with the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band, located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.

"This will be the first time, since the U.S. Air Force Band of Liberty from Hanscom was deactivated last summer, that an Air Force Band will be able to connect and inspire the local community, honor veterans and share Airmen's stories through music," said Capt. Michael Hoerber, Air Force Heritage of America Band commander. "Everyone at the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band is very excited to come to Massachusetts, especially those Airmen who previously served at Hanscom."

The Heritage of America Band travels more than 50,000 miles to perform concerts for listeners across a fifteen-state region ranging from Maine to South Carolina.

"The program will feature world-class soloists, movie music from outer space, some big band favorites, a touch of Dixieland, Sousa marches, and, of course, everyone's favorite patriotic songs," Hoerber said. "We will make sure to play something for everyone."

The Heritage of America Band concert band's Northeast tour will include stops in Springfield, Mass., April 23; Marlborough, Mass., April 24, Southbridge, Mass., April 26; and Fitchburg, Mass., April 28. A full schedule of upcoming events can be found at www.heritageofamericaband.af.mil/events/.
