Hanscom personnel earn AFCEA awards

Christopher Molis and Capt. Robert Walker were recognized at the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association International Conference held in San Diego, Calif., Feb. 17.

Molis, a C3I and Networks Directorate contracting specialist, received the Young AFCEAN Emerging Leadership Award. Walker, a Battle Management Air Traffic Systems Branch deputy chief engineer, received the Distinguished Young AFCEAN Award. Both were recognized for supporting AFCEA International and the Lexington-Concord Chapter of AFCEA.

Credited with continuing to lead the migration of current chapter initiatives, Molis increased the Young AFCEAN membership by more than 10 percent.

"Molis has demonstrated to young industry employees, Air Force officers, Airmen and government civilians how AFCEA can positively affect professional and personal development," said Chapter President Bud Vazquez. "His hand on the helm has been evident in virtually all he has done, and he has set the standard for all of the Chapter's Young AFCEANs."

Walker was specifically mentioned for his exceptional organizational skills in spearheading the chapter's membership program and helping organize and support some of the chapter's most important events.

The chapter president recognized Walker for his, "enthusiasm for AFCEA work and his expertise in accomplishing it has resulted in a win-win for our Young AFCEANS and the Lexington-Concord Chapter."

AFCEA is a non-profit association serving the military, government, industry and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence and global security.
