Fourth annual turkey drive planned Nov. 25 Published Nov. 20, 2013 By Mark Wyatt 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Members of the Chief's Group, Top Three and First Sergeant Council are scheduled to collect Thanksgiving turkey's Nov. 25 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Commissary parking lot for members of the Hanscom community who are in need. Turkeys will be distributed Nov. 25 from noon to five p.m., or until they are gone, also in the Commissary parking lot. "Taking care of Team Hanscom members during the holidays is the right thing to do," said Master Sgt. Pattie Hassan, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Detachment 7 first sergeant. "We included civilian Airmen this year because it's been a rough year for a lot of people who were impacted first by the furloughs this past summer but also the government shutdown last month." Enlisted servicemembers E-6 and under or civilian employees GS-8 and under may visit the Commissary parking lot to receive a free turkey. The drive is for anyone in need, but organizers would like to see younger members of the community in need benefit first. To donate a turkey earlier or for further information, contact Hassan at 781-2255515 or Pattie.Hassan@hanscom.af.mil.
