Don’t be a “no-show!” Published Aug. 8, 2013 66th Medical Squadron HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- According to 66th Medical Squadron officials, the amount of missed scheduled appointments by active duty, retirees and their family members are on the rise. The 66 MDS is asking for help in reducing the number of patients who do not show up for scheduled appointments. "A failure to show up for scheduled appointments takes away valuable appointments that could otherwise be used to provide care to you or your family members," said Maj. Trevor Schar, 66th Medical Squadron Chief of Medical Staff. "It also impacts mission readiness across the air base group and wastes limited resources." Patients who are not able to keep an appointment should call 781-225-6789 to cancel or reschedule as soon as possible. This will allow the clinic the opportunity to offer the appointment to another patient in a timely manner. "Airmen need to keep in mind that when a military member does not show up for a scheduled medical appointment, their commander or first sergeant is notified," said Col. Frank Glenn, 66th Medical Squadron commander. "For active duty family members, retirees and retiree family members, repeated no-shows will be grounds for disenrollment from the 66th Medical Squadron."
