FSS announces changes to food services Published Oct. 26, 2016 By 66th Air Base Group Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – 66th Force Support Squadron officials announced earlier this week that they will be making changes to catering and food services at the Minuteman Commons, including the Tavern, as well as the Resiliency Center Snack Bar. “SunCo Gourmet will no longer be under contract after Oct. 29,” said Frederick G. Thomas, 66 FSS director. “As a result, the Snack Bar at the Bowling Center will no longer serve lunch and will provide only limited options in the evening.” The Resiliency Center Snack Bar at Hanscom Lanes will serve pizza and hot dogs only Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. The Tavern will also provide limited food options and cater in food for programs such as First Friday and Football Frenzy. Officials hope to add grab-and-go lunch items in the coming weeks. Thomas expects these changes to be temporary until 66 FSS is able to put in place new-contracted food services. For customers who host events at the Minuteman Commons, they will have access to caterers who meet the Public Health requirements to serve in the facility. “The Minuteman Commons will provide customers a list of Public Health-approved caterers and food sources to assist organizations with planning their events,” Thomas said. “FSS will not endorse any one specific catering service.” Private customers will not have restrictions on choosing a caterer or food source. “We also announced this week our plan to hire an event planner to assist customers in planning their events at the Minuteman Commons,” Thomas said.
