We remember
HANSCOM AFB, Mass. -- "This table, set for one, is small, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner, alone against his or her suppressors. The single red rose in the vase, signifies the blood they many have shed in sacrifice to ensure the freedom of our beloved United States of America. This rose also reminds us of the family and friends of our missing comrades who keep the faith, while awaiting their return." Senior Airman Amanda Carter, 66th Medical Operations Squadron dental technician, leads a ceremony honoring prisoners of war and servicemembers missing in action Sept. 4. Such ceremonies are held before many official base events to honor and remember fallen comrades. National POW/MIA Day is Sept. 19. (U.S. Air Force photo by Mark Wyatt)
