Remembering Sept. 11
HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Jonathan Elias (right), WBZ-TV news anchor, 66th Air Base Group honorary commander and speaker for Hanscom’s Sept. 11 ceremony, watches along with Lt. Gen. Charles (C.R.) Davis, Electronic Systems Center commander, and Col. Stacy L. Yike, 66th Air Base Group commander, as Patriot Honor Guard members lay a wreath to honor the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks at the POW/MIA memorial. The ceremony also honored the memory of Col. Chuck Jones and Brian Sweeney, two former Hanscom teammates who perished during the Sept. 11 attacks. After the ceremony, attendees took a photo remembrance walk to the Minuteman Commons, where they could watch a video of base personnel answering the question, “Where were you and how did it change your world?” (U.S. Air Force photo by Linda LaBonte Britt)
