HMS students selected to participate in music festival

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Emma Ferguson (right) practices the flute while Eva Alpar sings during Mr. Howard Worona’s music class at Hanscom Middle School on Feb. 7. These two students were selected, through a rigorous audition process, to participate in the Massachusetts Music Educators Eastern District Junior Festival to be held at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School on March 4 and 5. Nearly 1,000 music students in grades 7 through 9 from more than 30 school districts auditioned in January and 482 were accepted to perform in a concert under the direction of distinguished guest conductors.
