Litening Targeting Pod
A camera located on a Litening Targeting Pod, shown here attached to an F/A-18 aircraft, works by receiving energy pulses from a targeted object as part of the Laser Target Imaging Program. LTIP, one of two 630th Electronic Systems Squadron's combat ID technologies showcased at Bold Quest, provides strike aircraft with real-time ID capability by illuminating targets at a much farther range than previously existed.
