Speckled Trout
HANSCOM AFB, Mass. – Maj. Scott Kulka, pilot of the Speckled Trout, a modified KC-135R, shows Amanda Gustafson, a Raytheon employee, the cockpit of the aircraft during a visit to Hanscom on Nov. 7. The Speckled Trout is the official nickname given to the modified aircraft. The aircraft is fully equipped with an array of radio equipment, data links and cryptographic sets. It also serves as a test bed for proposed command and control systems. The 412th Flight Test Squadron at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., operates the Speckled Trout and manages its test mission.
