Field Sobriety testing
HANSCOM AFB, Mass. – Airman First Class Luke McQuillen (left), 66th Security Forces Squadron, performs horizontal gaze nystagmus testing on Senior Airman John Reed (right), 66th Security Forces Squadron, during Field Sobriety training April 9 to 10. The training, provided by the Massachusetts State Police to members of the Security Forces, covered identifying impaired drivers and recognizing the physical signs of impairment, and included performing sobriety tests on individuals with alcohol levels ranging from .08 to .17, which is nearly double the legal limit. “The training increased our awareness so we can apprehend people and deter them from operating under the influence,” said Airman McQuillen.
