Hanscom officials open Weather Engineering Facility
Steven Wert, Battle Management program executive officer, gives remarks during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a Weather Engineering Facility at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., Sept. 6. The WEF contains multiple versions of static, mobile and tactical weather sensors used to provide current conditions to service members throughout the world. Wert said the facility represents two years of work for the Battle Management Weather Division, with program managers innovating to use small business set-asides in order to create a facility where they can become the experts on the systems they provide.
