HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Air Base Group Safety office will host a Motorcycle Safety Mentorship Ride event here June 16, beginning at 8 a.m.

Participants will meet at the Hanscom Conference Center for a safety briefing, training and inspection of motorcycles before taking a group ride in the local area.

“The annual event is about providing motorcyclists safe riding practices while operating on- and off-base,’’ said Shaun Bassett, 66 ABG Occupational Safety manager.

The safety-focused event is open to all with base access.

According to organizers, Hanscom active duty riders who attend the full duration of the event will meet annual pre-season requirements per Air Force Instruction 91-207, as well as the five-year refresher training requirement.

In case of inclement weather, safety officials will reschedule the event to June 24.
