National Federation of Federal Employees meeting
The National Federation of Federal Employees, Local 1384, represents all S&E and professional employees at Hanscom. Monthly union meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in the Burlington Room of the Hanscom Conference Center, Bldg. 1106. All bargaining unit employees are welcome. Lunch will be provided or employees can bring their own. HSC Welcome
The Hanscom Spouses Club will hold its annual welcome event Sept. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons. Military spouses of all branches, active and retired, as well as civil service spouses are welcome to attend. Attendance is free. Light appetizers and desserts will be provided. Restoration Advisory Board meeting notice
The public is invited to attend a Restoration Advisory Board meeting for an update on the ongoing environmental restoration at Hanscom Air Force Base Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Town Center Building located at 12 Mudge Way, Bedford, Mass. For further information, contact Jeffrey Oja at 603-471-2417.

Vettes to Vets
The Bedford Veterans Administration is scheduled to host a "Vettes to Vets" event Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Bedford VA parking lot. Hundreds of Corvette owners participate in the event to raise money for clothing and other charitable goods for veterans living in VA centers across New England. Last year, more than 400 Corvettes arrived to honor veterans. The goal this year is to exceed 500 Corvettes.

The Paul Revere Chapter of the Air Force Association and the Hanscom Air Force Sergeants Association are in need of 50 volunteers to assist in providing food to more than 2,000 guests. Volunteers will help cook and serve food to veterans and others. To volunteer for this event, contact Tech. Sgt. John D. Twomey IV at 781-225-6592.

The Power of Restful Sleep
This free one-hour program hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will discuss the vital role of restful sleep to your good health Oct. 8 from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Whether awake and tired, have occasional insomnia, or haven't slept well in years, learn strategies that can be used right away. The program will cover: Consequences of poor sleep, insomnia, developing a sleep schedule, what to do when you just can't fall asleep, resetting your internal clock and keeping a journal. AFA Fall Golf Tournament
The Air Force Association Paul Revere Chapter's annual Fall Golf Tournament is scheduled Oct. 8 at Butter Brook Golf Club in Westford, Mass. A shotgun start begins at 9 a.m. and is a four person scramble. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Cost to participate in the event is $125 per person for industry and $75 for government. Cost includes golf, cart, coffee and doughnuts as well as lunch. Various sponsorships are available for individuals or companies. STOMP Workshop scheduled
Specialized Training of Military Parents, or STOMP, is a federally funded parent training and information center established to assist military families who have children with special education or health needs. The two day workshop scheduled Oct. 21 and 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center will guide families with special needs children through multiple complex systems that exist in the military, educational programs and within their community. Among the many topics discussed are Special Education Law, Individual Education Program and 504, TRICARE and Enhanced Care Health Option and more. Pre-registration is required.
