12/16/2014 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- For additional base event information, visit the calendar page on the 66th Force Support Squadron's website. Local community events can be found by visiting the Bedford, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln or the Boston and Massachusetts calendar sites.

Hanscom AFB Career Fair scheduled
The Hanscom Air Force Base Airman and Family Readiness Center will host a Career Fair Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Minuteman Commons. Several local public and private organizations will be in attendance. This event is open to all service members, Defense Department civilians as well as dependents and retirees. Senior Transition Assistance Program
Chief master sergeants, lieutenant colonels and colonels are invited to attend the Senior Transition Program Workshop Oct. 19-23 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Eligible attendees must be within 24 months of retirement and attend the Pre-Separation Counseling offered each Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. The workshop will cover the following areas: skill assessments and marketing strategies, resume writing, career exploration, networking, today's current job market, hiring and staffing challenges, resume preparation, industry standard interview techniques and salary negotiations. AFA Fall Golf Tournament
The Air Force Association Paul Revere Chapter's annual Fall Golf Tournament is scheduled Oct. 6 at Butter Brook Golf Club in Westford, Mass. A shotgun start begins at 9 a.m. and is a four person scramble. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Cost to participate in the event is $125 per person for industry and $75 for government. Cost includes golf, cart, coffee and doughnuts as well as lunch. Various sponsorships are available for individuals or companies. Hanscom Chapel 'Connect'
The Hanscom community is invited to connect on base with other members of the community every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the chapel annex. Connect is a mid-week ministry at the chapel where community members can build relationships and discover their fit and purpose while studying God's word. Study groups are offered for children, adults and teens. Dinner is provided and begins at 6 p.m. Breakout groups will meet immediately following the meal for all ages. Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat
The Hanscom chapel in partnership with Family Advocacy invites the community to Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at the chapel with other members of the community Oct. 28 at 6 to 7:30 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for families along with trunk or treat and games. Annual Salute to Veterans scheduled
The 66th Air Base Group commander will host the fourth annual Salute to Veterans Nov. 10 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center. This year's tribute will focus on veterans who served honorably, whether retired or honorably discharged. All interested veterans should contact Bobby Jacques at 781-225-1333 to reserve a place for the event. The entire Hanscom community is invited to attend this ceremony.

National Federation of Federal Employees meeting
The National Federation of Federal Employees, Local 1384, represents all S&E and professional employees at Hanscom. Monthly union meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in the Burlington Room of the Hanscom Conference Center, Bldg. 1106. All bargaining unit employees are welcome. Lunch will be provided or employees can bring their own.
