4/14/2014 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- For additional base event information, visit the calendar page on the 66th Force Support Squadron's website. Local community events can be found by visiting the Bedford, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln or the Boston and Massachusetts calendar sites.  

National Federation of Federal Employees meeting
The National Federation of Federal Employees, Local 1384, represents all S&E and professional employees at Hanscom. Monthly union meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in the Burlington Room of the Hanscom Conference Center, Bldg. 1106. All bargaining unit employees are welcome. Lunch will be provided or employees can bring their own. Hanscom Chapel 'Connect'
The Hanscom community is invited to connect on base with other members of the community every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Chapel Annex. Connect is a mid-week ministry at the chapel where community members can build relationships and discover their fit and purpose while studying God's word. Study groups are offered for children, adults and teens. This semester, parents are studying with their teens so that they can grow together. Dinner is provided and begins at 6 p.m. Breakout groups will meet immediately following the meal for all ages. Thanksgiving Eve Ecumenical Service
The Hanscom Chapel invites the community to the Thanksgiving Eve Ecumenical Service Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. Join the chapel as they celebrate together in the spirit of thanksgiving all the blessings God has provided for us. A pie social will follow. Contact the chapel at 781-225-5501 for further information.

Bundles for Babies
The Airman and Family Readiness Center is offering a one-day seminar that covers important information for expectant military parents in their second or third trimester. Session takes place Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AFRC, Building 1218. Baby bundles are available for Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Army families. DoD civilians will also receive a gift.  Dads are strongly encouraged to attend.

Tree lighting
The Hanscom Chapel will host the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. The event begins with Christmas music in the chapel sanctuary, then the arrival of Santa outside and ending in the chapel annex for crafts, cookies and photos with Santa. Contact the chapel at 781-225-5501 for further information.

Menorah Lighting
The annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony is scheduled at the chapel Dec. 16 at 4 p.m. The Menorah Lighting commemorates the eight-day celebration of Hanukkah, Dec 16 to  through Dec. 24, also known as the Festival of Lights. During each night of the festival, an additional candle is lit. Refreshments will be served, the children's choir will perform and all are welcome to attend.
