4/14/2014 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- For additional base event information, visit the calendar page on the 66th Force Support Squadron's website. Local community events can be found by visiting the Bedford, Concord, Lexington and Lincoln or the Boston and Massachusetts calendar sites.  

Hanscom Study Buddy Program
The Hanscom Study Buddy Program invites volunteers and parents who helped youth from Hanscom and the surrounding community to a reception at the Minuteman Commons June 24 at 3 p.m. for refreshments. The event is to celebrate the close of the academic year and discuss plans for the next academic year. First Lt. Javier Noboa, the new program coordinator, will be introduced and will outline his goals for next year. The school liaison officer and area school guidance counselors are also invited to the event to educate families on their roles. Organizers say the event serves as an opportunity for parents to meet with volunteer tutors and begin arranging tutoring for next year now. Any company grade officers, Senior NCOs, civilians interested in getting involved in the Hanscom Study Buddy Program are welcome to attend. For further information contact 1st Lt. National Federation of Federal Employees meeting
The National Federation of Federal Employees, Local 1384, represents all S&E and professional employees at Hanscom. Monthly union meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in the Burlington Room of the Hanscom Conference Center, Bldg. 1106. All bargaining unit employees are welcome. Lunch will be provided or employees can bring their own. Heroes Homecoming scheduled
Airmen who have returned home from deployment since July 2013, along with their family members, will be honored during this summer's Heroes Homecoming July 23. The event begins with a parade at 1 p.m. from the Hanscom Conference Center to the base track where a base-wide picnic is scheduled. The parade will include the honorees, their families, recipients and others riding in vehicles. Hanscom personnel are invited to line the parade route and honor these heroes by waving American flags and cheering as parade proceeds to the base track. Anyone who has returned home from deployment since last July and would like to participate in Heroes Homecoming should contact Bobby Jacques at 781-225-1333.

MAC luncheon scheduled
The Military Affairs Council is sponsoring a luncheon with Gen. Michael Hostage, Air Combat Command commander, July 29 at the Minuteman Commons. Hostage is a primary customer for most of Hanscom's acquisition programs. All Hanscom personnel are invited. Signup and details are available here.

Vacation Bible School
The Hanscom Chapel will host ecumenical Vacation Bible School Aug. 4 through 8 from 9 a.m. to noon for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Cost is $10 per child for the full week or capped at $40 per family for the full week.
