National Federation of Federal Employees meeting
The National Federation of Federal Employees, Local 1384, represents all S&E and professional employees at Hanscom. Monthly union meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. in the Burlington Room of the Hanscom Conference Center, Bldg. 1106. All bargaining unit employees are welcome. Lunch will be provided or employees can bring their own. Hanscom Chapel 'Connect'
The Hanscom community is invited to connect on base with other members of the community every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Chapel Annex. Connect is a mid-week ministry at the chapel where community members can build relationships and discover their fit and purpose while studying God's word. Study groups are offered for children, adults and teens. This semester, parents are studying with their teens so that they can grow together. Dinner is provided and begins at 6 p.m. Breakout groups will meet immediately following the meal for all ages. STOMP Workshop scheduled
Specialized Training of Military Parents, or STOMP, is a federally funded parent training and information center established to assist military families who have children with special education or health needs. The two day workshop scheduled Oct. 21 and 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center will guide families with special needs children through multiple complex systems that exist in the military, educational programs and within their community. Among the many topics discussed are Special Education Law, Individual Education Program and 504, TRICARE and Enhanced Care Health Option and more. Pre-registration is required. Harvest Happenings at the U.S.S. Constitution
A special evening for military families is scheduled at the Charlestown Navy Yard aboard America's oldest warship afloat, the U.S.S. Constitution, Oct. 25 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Children will trick or treat through time, hear seafaring stories in the "belly" of Old Ironsides and sip "grog." In addition, children will make curvy spiders, build a sea monster and enjoy other activities. This event requires advanced reservations and is ideal for children age five to 12 years old. Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat
The Hanscom Air Force Base Chapel in partnership with Family Advocacy invites the community to Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat at the chapel with other members of the community Oct. 29 at 6 to 7:30 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available for families along with trunk or treat and games. The Fall Festival will be in lieu of the regularly scheduled Connect which is a weekly ministry at the chapel where community members can build relationships and discover their fit and purpose while studying God's word. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Intelligence Division is hosting a GEOINT (Geospatial Intelligence) Technical Exchange Meeting Oct. 29 along with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency to provide sessions relevant to many Hanscom programs. Government personnel, contractors, and Federally Funded Research and Development Center personnel with proper clearances are invited to attend.  Topics include GEOINT and Targeting in ISIS operations, NGA Cyber Visualization and cloud and big data architectures, Net-centric GEOINT discovery, NGA analytic tools, and more. 4-H Cloverbuds
The 4-H Cloverbuds for children 5 to 7 years old is scheduled to meet Nov. 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hanscom Community Center. This month children will conduct science experiments. At each meeting, children will learn science activities, participate in visual presentations, perform community service, attend field trips, workshops and the Middlesex County Fair. 4-H is free for active duty and retired military children. Annual Salute to Veterans scheduled
The 66th Air Base Group commander will host the third annual Salute to Veterans Nov. 7 at 8:30 a.m. at the Hanscom Conference Center. This year's tribute will focus on veterans who served honorably, whether retired or honorably discharged. The first 150 veterans who sign up will enjoy a continental breakfast. All interested veterans should contact Bobby Jacques at 781-225-1333 to reserve a place for the event. The entire Hanscom community is invited to this ceremony.

Holiday bazaar
The Hanscom Spouses Club will host the Third Annual Hanscom Spouses Club Holiday Bazaar at the Minuteman Commons ballroom Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. 5 p.m. Admission is free. HSC invites the Hanscom community to start their holiday shopping early. Many on-base and local crafters and home-based businesses will be there. The HSC will also be having a bake sale. A prize will be given away every hour on the hour.
