The Hanscom AFB Youth Center is offering several day camp options for children throughout the summer.

Families with base access can choose from returning programs such as soccer, archery and theater, as well as new camps teaching skills related to leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital music.

“We have an exciting lineup of programs this summer and we’re looking forward to seeing how the new camps are received,” said Kerri Lindmark, program specialist for Hanscom AFB Youth Programs.

Teen Leadership Camp helps attendees foster teamwork and improve critical thinking as they work together to set and achieve goals.

In Digital Music Camp, children use digital and online technology to create and record music.

Teen Entrepreneur Camp provides an experience similar to a popular television show, by asking participants to develop a concept or product to solve a problem and then create a pitch to garner support and buy-in from a panel.

The returning Missoula Children’s Theater Camp is a touring program that travels across the country and casts local youth in performances.

“They are phenomenal,” said Lindmark. “The first time I saw them, I was blown away by their skills and what they help these kids accomplish on stage.”

This year’s production is “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Camp counselors will cast the play and rehearse with children throughout the week before they perform for an audience on Aug. 14 at 3 p.m.
