Colonel Charles R. Silvanic is Commander, 66th Air Base Group, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. The group supports the Air Force acquisition mission, providing base, regional and readiness support for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, three Portfolio Acquisition Executives, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a variety of other tenant organizations and a joint-service military housing community. The group also provides direct support to approximately 200 geographically separated units and approximately 130,000 retired military personnel, annuitants and spouses living in the six-state New England and New York area.
Colonel Silvanic enlisted in the Air Force in December 1997 and was commissioned through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama in September 2000.
Prior to his current position, the Colonel served as the Director, Financial Management & Comptroller, U.S. Air Force Reserve, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. In this role, he served as the principal advisor to the Chief of the Air Force Reserve on all budgetary and financial matters and was responsible for formulating and defending the U.S. Air Force Reserve's $7.4 billion budget before Air Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of Management and Budget and Congress.
