AtHoc emergency notification available for inclement weather information

Members of the workforce are required to use AtHoc, an interactive warning system that allows senior leaders to inform base personnel of urgent information such as base closures or delayed openings.

The system notifies users via phone call, text message, email or computer pop-ups. Messages are sent through the same mass alert system that provides pop-up notifications to personnel through desktop workstations.

Personnel shall utilize AtHoc and input or update their information in the system by providing home, cell phone and emergency contact numbers and email addresses, according to their communication preferences. These individuals will normally be notified between 4 and 5 a.m. in the event of extreme weather.

Instructions for adding or updating contact information in the AtHoc system:

  • On a government computer, click the AtHoc icon (white globe on the right side of the taskbar) and select "Access Self Service." From there, log in with your credentials and enter all applicable contact information. Be advised that each field in which data is provided can be used for notifications, per the commander's discretion. Participants requesting text message alerts should know that they will not be reimbursed for any text messaging charges incurred.
  • Please note, to be in compliance with AFMAN 10-206, para 8.14.2, it is mandatory for all military (regular Air Force and Space Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard), civilian personnel (bargaining/non-bargaining), and contact support personnel whose normal place of duty is on a DoD installation or within a DoD facility to provide an after-hours contact number or personal email.

In addition to AtHoc, base personnel have other options to quickly find out information regarding emergencies, inclement weather delays or closures. Those include the COLD line at 781-225-COLD (2653), Hanscom public website at www.Hanscom.af.mil or Hanscom’s official Facebook page.

For further information about AtHoc, email the Command Post at 66.abg.cp.cmb@us.af.mil.
