Patriot Vigil at the North Bridge

As darkness descends upon the North Bridge battlefield, come and reflect on the events of April 19, 1775, and the meaning of liberty. The evening ceremony will feature a lantern-light procession, poetry, music and a recitation of the names of the soldiers who gave their lives on April 19, 1775. The path from the North Bridge Visitor Center to the North Bridge will be lighted with 122 luminaries to honor those who lost their lives in the battle.

The Concord Museum will host a special Community Day inviting the public to mark the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution. The William Munroe Special Collections is excited to announce the temporary installation of a stunning work of art by Andy Warhol, on loan from the Museum of American Bird Art at Mass Audubon. In honor of the Concord250 celebrations, Warhol’s original silkscreen of a Bald Eagle provides an inspirational and poignant reminder of the fight for independence and the ongoing struggle for environmental justice and conservation.

The Lexington Bicentennial Band Concert will be the culmination of the Patriot’s Day Celebration for the 250th Anniversary of the first battle of the American revolution in Lexington. It will feature music related to the time period of the revolution, including 2 works that have been commissioned by the band.

Alarm and Muster

Join reenactors as they reminisce about the fateful early hours of April 19, 1775. An alarm rider will arrive on horseback to alert the citizens of Lincoln. Bells ring and drums roll as the Minute Men assemble for musket drill and firing and receive orders to march.

Old Burying Ground Tribute

March with the Lincoln Minute Men and British Regulars from Pierce House to the Old Burying Ground on Lexington Road to honor those who lost their lives in Lincoln along Battle Road. Mary Hartwell will tell her story of burying British soldiers and a British mother laments the loss of her son. Ceremonies include music and musket salutes.
