HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – In this Straight Talk, I will answer a question submitted by a member of Team Hanscom asking about the operating hours for the Post Office located on base.

Q Recently I have been to the Post Office at Hanscom during my lunch hour and found it closed each time.

A Thanks for the question via the Straight Talk line. The Post Office at Hanscom AFB is a part of the Bedford Post Office. This Post Office is a one-person operation, which means that the office must close for lunch; it may also close when the attendant needs to run to the Hanscom Federal Credit Union to obtain additional change.

The Hanscom Post Office retail hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Post Office is closed from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for lunch. The Post Office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The main Bedford Post office, located only three miles from Hanscom, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lexington Post Office holds the same hours and is three-and-a-half miles away from Hanscom.

For further information about the Hanscom-based Post Office, call 781-225-2630.

Thank you for the question. If you have a question and are not sure where to find the answer, I encourage you to contact the Straight Talk line at 781-225-1380 or by email at Hanscom.straightalk@us.af.mil.
