ABG change of command scheduled

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The workforce is invited to attend a change of command ceremony at which Col. Roman Hund will relinquish command of the 66th Air Base Group to Col. Chad Ellsworth Aug. 2 at 9 a.m. in the Aero Club Hangar.

Lt. Gen. Robert McMurry, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center commander, will preside over the ceremony.

Ellsworth most recently was a National Defense Fellow in the International Security Program at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The International Security Program addresses the most pressing threats to U.S. national interests and international security.

Among his numerous other assignments, Ellsworth served as the executive officer for Gen. Ellen Pawlikowski, commander of Air Force Materiel Command. He has also served as a mission support group deputy commander, squadron commander and served a joint assignment as a deputy program manager for Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir in Virginia.

Ellsworth entered the Air Force in 1993 through Basic Military Training and received his commission through Officer Training School in 2000 after completing his bachelor’s degree from Faulkner University.

Hund will retire Aug. 1 after more than 26 years in the Air Force.

Attendees must be in place by 8:45 a.m. Dress will be uniform of the day for military members.

After the formal ceremony, McMurry and Ellsworth will participate in a reception that is open to all.
