HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The medical squadron will open on Wednesday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 23, the days prior to and immediately following Thanksgiving. While some services may not be available, at a minimum, patients will have access to acute care during this time.

The clinic will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving.

“Adjusting our hours is part of our commitment to provide timely access to care for all of our patients,” said Col. Russell Pinard, 66th Medical Squadron Commander. “We value our patients and are actively engaged in continuing to increase access to care and to enhance our mission to provide medically-ready warfighters.”

On Wednesday, Nov. 21, the clinic will offer full services from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The clinic will offer same-day care by appointment only on Friday, Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. for all patients enrolled at the Hanscom Clinic.

The call center will be open on Friday from 7 to 11 a.m. to ensure clinic officials meet patients’ same-day needs. The pharmacy will be open for pick up only for prescriptions previously activated and ready for pick up. For those submitting hard-copy prescriptions or e-scripts, those will be ready for pick up after 12 p.m. on the next duty day.

In addition to increasing access to acute care, the pharmacy is now open regularly from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Pharmacy is open from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for pickup only. The Pharmacy is not open during holidays and will offer limited services during training days, down days and family days.

Electronic prescriptions and prescriptions entered by Hanscom AFB providers can be activated over the phone by calling 781-225-6173. Refill prescriptions can be ordered through the automated refill system by calling 781-225-2592 or through TRICARE Online. Note that refills will take two duty days to process. Hard-copy prescriptions dropped off after 4:30 p.m. will be processed the following duty day.
