HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – A Senior NCO Induction Ceremony will take place Sept. 13 at the Minuteman Commons to recognize Total Force Airmen recently selected for promotion to master sergeant. The theme for this year’s ceremony is “Tomorrow’s Leaders Begin Today.”
The ceremony is the culmination of a four-day class the promoting technical sergeants will participate in, called the Senior NCO Professional Enhancement Course.
“The Senior NCO Induction Ceremony marks a significant milestone in one’s career and it raises the bar for expectations, responsibility and professionalism,” said Master Sgt. Joseph Feigel, co-organizer of this year’s ceremony. “From this point on these leaders will be relied upon to lead their organizations to mission accomplishment.”
Chief Master Sgt. Erica Rhea, chief enlisted manager for the 64th Air Refueling Squadron at Pease Air National Guard Base in New Hampshire, is the guest speaker for this year’s ceremony.
“The induction ceremony recognizes the hard work these men and women have accomplished in preparation for the increased responsibility they will be charged with,” said Master Sgt. Mark Wyman, co-organizer of this year’s ceremony.
Inductees are from Hanscom AFB and geographically separated units throughout New England.
Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and the formal ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Attire for the evening is mess dress or semi-formal for military and business for civilians.
Red Heat Tavern Catering will offer barbecue chicken, pulled pork, stuffed peppers and veggie option with sides and salad. The cost to attend is $30 per person.
