HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The next Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Focus Week will take place Oct. 21 to 25, and this session includes myriad local courses.

Organizers say the training offered assists AFLCMC personnel in adapting to the rapidly changing acquisition environment and helps them expand their skills.

Hanscom’s Acquisition Center of Excellence is once again supporting Focus Week offering 4 classes: NDAA 2016 Section 804; Contracting Strategies and Acquisition Streamlining Approaches; Other Transaction Agreements; and Agile Basics. “NDAA 2016 Section 804 Training,” which continuously has been a highly-sought after class, provides an in-depth view of rapid prototyping and fielding. “Contracting Strategies and Acquisition Streamlining Approaches” will discuss available contracting strategies and streamlining approaches that help program teams get on contract faster. “Agile Basics,” is an AgileDevOps primer intended to provide a solid overview of the world of Agile while “Other Transaction Agreements” will examine the different types of OTAs, including the benefits and risks of using them.

Numerous local courses in areas other than rapid acquisition will also take place.

“Appropriations Law” is designed for anyone who deals with money in the federal government, such as budget analysts, purchase card holders, approving officials, certifying officers, contracting officers, approving officials, auditors, accountants, office managers, office assistants, and anyone else who wants to obtain a better understanding of the laws governing the proper execution of appropriated funds.

“Intel Integration in Acquisition - Update” will explain how IN is improving intel integration within acquisition, to include implementation of directors of Intelligence within the AFLCMC program executive offices.

There is also training geared toward specific career fields, such as logistics or engineering.

As in previous sessions, distance learning opportunities are also available. Program managers and their personnel may be interested in “Acquisition Process Model Update Training,” “How to Improve the APM,” “Earned Value Management Fundamentals for the PM” or “Small Business – Myth Busters and Insights for Program Managers.”

Personnel with Air Force network access can view a complete schedule here. To complete registration, attendees must use the AcqNow site at https://acqnow.atrrs.army.mil.
