HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Officials from the Hanscom Education and Training Center are now offering weekly professional development opportunities through Mar. 4.

Discussion topics include emotional intelligence, ethical leadership and conflict management. Sessions will take place from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays.

Those interested in attending can find a complete schedule of discussion topics on the Hanscom website and Hanscom mobile app. Participation is open to military and civilian personnel.

“We hope to see a diverse crowd of ranks and professional backgrounds to help broaden the scope and perspectives of the topics,” said Master Sgt. Eddie Escamilla, installation career assistance advisor.

Escamilla hopes the selected topics promote open discussion between attendees and give junior members a head start on applying the theories to their work environments.

“Getting our young Airmen involved empowers them to fill a leadership role no matter their rank,” he said.

The discussions do not require pre-registration, and attendees are free to bring a lunch to the classrooms.

Escamilla encourages anyone interested in the topics to attend, adding it’s never a bad time to add different perspectives to a leadership toolbox.

“These discussions have a way of turning into mentorship opportunities,” he said. “This is a chance to network, build unit cohesion, and add value to the mission we all support at Hanscom.”
