HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Logistics Directorate held its seventh annual awards ceremony at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio Feb. 27.
AFLCMC-Hanscom personnel participated in the ceremony via video teleconference.
“Today our finalists and award winners represent the fine work that we do every day to make sure that our warfighters … can execute their mission with great surety,” said Lansen Conley, AFLCMC director of Logistics and Logistics Services at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Capt. Jeep Atkinson, Kerri Hagstrom and Tara Sicard received awards for demonstrated excellence in the field of logistics.
Logistics Manager for ACAT II and III (non-flying) Company Grade Officer Category
Officials recognized Atkinson for leading a logistics team in the development and sustainment of the Three Dimensional Expeditionary Long Range Radar.
“He managed the $1.8 million dollar Congressionally mandated business case analysis process ensuring the program remained on schedule and on cost,” said Brendan Sweetman, co-narrator for the ceremony. “Captain Atkinson drove multiple branch process improvement initiatives reconciling 11 work-flow processes into one and increasing program efficiencies by 30 percent.”
Logistics Manager for ACAT I and II (non-flying) Tier I Award
Kerri Hagstrom, logistician for the Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks Directorate, received the Logistics Manager for ACAT I and II (non-flying) Tier I Award.
“Ms. Hagstrom conducted a 100 percent touch audit of more than 2,000 government furnished property items worth $25 million dollars at 20 sites,” said Samantha Ekberg, co-narrator for the ceremony. “The audit resulted in a 75 percent increase of government property accountability ensuring critical mission support.”
Logistics Manager for ACAT II and III (non-flying) Tier II Award
Sicard, chief of Logistics for C3I&N, received the Logistics Manager for ACAT II and III (non-flying) Tier II Award.
Sicard and her team successfully developed more than 120 technical refreshes and time compliance technical orders without loss in connectivity, increasing network capabilities and ensuring a safe, secure network for the warfighter.
“She successfully collaborated with the Air National Guard to source additional funding for critical software license renewals, avoiding $1 million in reinstatement fees,” Sweetman said.
Scott Owens, deputy director of C3I&N, presented Hagstrom and Sicard with their awards. Atkinson was unable to attend.
