WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio (AFLCMC) – Nearly 1,000 representatives from more than 400 companies participated in the Advanced Battle Management System Industry Day on May 13.

The event, hosted on Zoom by the Architecture and Integration Directorate, was one of the first large-scale, nationwide virtual Industry Days for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.

The Directorate released the Industry Day notice on BetaSam, followed by multiple social media platforms to include Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

“Our objective was for the ABMS team to communicate the Architect’s vision, each category’s scope, the process for demonstration on-ramps, test expectations and opportunities to contractually onramp,” said Norman Metzger, Acting Director of the Architecture and Integration Directorate.  “The response and engagement was exactly what we had hoped for.”

In all, there were 958 registered, representing 431 companies from 32 states and 4 universities.  Of the 431 companies, 230 chose to schedule one-on-one discussions with the Chief Architect’s Integration Office to identify future engagement and investment opportunities.

“This virtual Industry Day was a success, receiving responses from Industry partners such as, this was ‘better than traditional industry day because we can be heard,’ ‘the new website is very good,’ ‘this is the best industry day I have attended,’” Metzger said.

The event also served to launch the new ABMS website at www.jadc2abms.com.  The website was created to be industry’s “go-to” link for learning more about the ABMS program and methods of engagement.

“Going forward, our team is committed to meeting the ABMS mission, partnering with subject matter experts across domains, and delivering to the warfighter,” Metzger said.
