HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Hanscom Visitor Control Center now features a virtual waiting list for personnel needing access to the installation.
Users can reserve a spot in line or schedule future appointments by signing into the tablet outside the Visitor Control Center or by visiting https://v2.waitwhile.com/welcome/hafbvcc.
“Customers will receive a text or email notification when it’s their turn to be served,” said Master Sgt. Angelina Simms, 66th Security Forces Squadron noncommissioned officer in charge of Defense Force Operations Support. “Not only will this help keep people out from the elements, but it’s a great way to keep a safe physical distance from one another.”
Simms said the SFS team plans to install a monitor outside the building that will display the queue of names in the order of service.
The waiting list is open to anyone who would normally utilize the Visitor Control Center, and base access requirements remain the same.
“Anyone can schedule an appointment, but those without base access still require a sponsor,” said Simms.
Officials from the 66 SFS hope the new virtual waitlist will allow defenders to better serve the community requesting access to Hanscom.
“Our hope is this system will help us take care of our people and increase the quality of our customer service,” said Simms.
