HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The installation’s annual Veterans Day Salute will be featured as episode five of “Above and Beyond Six Feet” airing Nov. 10.

The 2020 ceremony will stream over Zoom and pay tribute to veterans across the installation and community.

“Even though we can’t all be there together, we’re still going to put on a show that makes our veterans proud of who they are and what they’re all about,” said Bobby Jacques, organizer for the event and retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant.

The event will feature a collection of photographs and guest speakers, including retired Marine Corps Capt. Dean Mottard, who served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.

“It seems the only constant thing we can count on is change,” said Mottard. “The only thing that doesn’t seem to change is the determination of the U.S. service member, and this ceremony is to say thank you to them.”

The event will stream live over Zoom on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. Meeting number is 160 933 5114, with passcode, 473319. Members of the base and local communities are welcome to attend virtually.

The town of Bedford will also be commemorating Veterans Day virtually. In lieu of the traditional ceremony held at Veterans Memorial Park in Bedford, the ceremony will be virtual and broadcast via Bedford TV or at www.youtube.com/bedfordtvma on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Officials from the town of Lexington are hosting a “Veterans Motivations and Memories” event on Nov. 2, as well as a virtual Veterans Day program and socially distanced car parade on Nov. 11. “Veterans Day is the only day that belongs to all of who have served,” said Jacques. “It’s important to me that we reinforce to our veterans that they’re important to each other, to this country, and that they’ve made a difference.”
