HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Officials announced Oct. 30 that the deadline for the 2020 Combined Federal Campaign is extended through Nov. 20.

The extension offers more time for federal workers to contribute to the annual campaign. The CFC had been slated to conclude Nov. 2.

“Your commitment to giving through the CFC will bring help and hope to countless individuals and communities, as monetary and volunteer pledges go to support the missions of thousands of participating charities,” wrote Col. Katrina Stephens, installation commander, in an email to members of the workforce.

Hanscom CFC officials have collected more than $25,000 to date. Hanscom’s Combined Federal Campaign goal is to make100 percent contact with military and civilian federal employees here.

“When you pledge through the CFC, your gift is more than just a number. Maybe it feels like a small amount to you, or maybe it was calculated carefully with a personal budget in mind. But to the charities who receive your support and those they serve, it means a world of possibility,” added Stephens.

Hanscom, along with other federal organizations in the region such as the National Park Service and U.S. Postal Service, are part of the New England CFC. Information on how to donate this year can be found at https://cfcgiving.opm.gov/welcome.

Federal employees may choose to deduct a certain amount from each paycheck, give a one-time donation via credit card or check or pledge volunteer hours.

The CFC has raised more than $8.4 billion for charitable organizations since 1961, remaining among the largest workplace giving campaigns in the world.
