HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Medical Squadron is now offering single COVID booster doses for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines while limited supplies last.

The booster doses are available to all those 18 years and older, with base access, who completed their initial vaccine dose prior to May 5, on base or off.

The immunizations clinic here will be open for walk-in COVID boosters Nov. 1 to 3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be a walk-in point of distribution for boosters at the base theater from 8 a.m. to noon on Nov. 5.

“With Thanksgiving coming soon, I highly recommend all those able to receive a booster do so,” said Lt. Col. Gough, 66 MDS public health emergency officer. “We saw a significant spike in cases last year after Thanksgiving, and we want to do everything possible to avoid a surge this year.”

Gough said personnel now can receive either the Pfizer or the Moderna booster regardless of their initial vaccine dose brand.

Public Health officials also said beneficiaries will see additional information about the recent U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s emergency use authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 in the coming weeks.
