HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – 66th Force Support Squadron officials will host an ‘End of Summer Fest’ at the base chapel grounds here Aug. 26.

The community-based event will begin with a free carnival at 3 p.m. and a fireworks display scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

“This event is a wonderful way to connect the Hanscom community through exciting and inclusive end-of-summer fun being held outside the chapel,” said Andrew Lane, 66 FSS community programs and project specialist.

Activities planned include outdoor games, face painting, balloon artists and free barbecue food. In addition, various Hanscom-based private organizations will be selling food and beverages.

“There will be several locations on base to view the fireworks display, including the fitness track, Outdoor Recreation parking lot, Memorial Park and the Hanscom Conference Center upper parking lot,” said Lane.

Parking in the lower parking lot outside the conference center will be closed for safety.

The event is open to all those with base access.

Organizers ask attendees to park at the 66th Medical Squadron lot and encourage base residents to walk from housing.

Lane added there are lots of volunteer opportunities for folks looking to be a part of “something fun.”
